I have been in NC for almost 2 years. I was told payday loans are illegal here. Does that apply to online loans, as well? I hadn't needed their services, until recently. I had a car accident and need to meet my deductible. I have a slow pay credit history, which I am working on, so traditional methods of lending aren't availiable to me. Any information would help.

NO, don't do it on line. Go the Amscot or some other place in person. There are way to many spoof sites that will use that info for other purposes. It's not worth the risk!

please do NOT do that they will charge you 400-700% interest and if you can't repay it they will seriously hurt your credit reputation and will take you to court. Call the people you owe money to and work out a payment plan but please please do not use a payday loan!
The ones online also have been rumored to steal identities and money from their customers, and are COMPLETELY UN- regulated!

Some of the best reputable ones that I have used before are paydayone.com and thinkcash.com... they don't do the same day but they do next day so good luck with those... I have used them both. I've also used ameriloan.com but just know that the interest is pretty significant on those loans.

Ace Cash Express has helped me a few times. As long as you can afford to pay the loan back with your next paycheck, the interest isn't that bad. I think I paid $50 on a $500 loan. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me at all. Plus I was able to get the loan quickly, without any hassle. They don't check your credit, and it can actually help your credit. Good luck!

Very bad idea. The interest rate is 300%+. And they have complete access to your checking account.
Do anything else to get by -- collect alum cans, mow lawns, pawn something. Just don't bury yourself with payday loans.

If you have a checking or savings account you can obtain a payday loan online. The interest is extremely high though. I got $200.00 and had to pay $300.00 back. They will automatically deposit the money into your account. Once the loan becomes due, you can either pay the interest to extend the loan (I think $75.00) or you can pay the full amount that is due. They are safe. USA Fast Cash is the one I did business with and kept in good standing with if I ever had to use their services again. If you can't find that website then just go online and search for online payday loans, and some sites will send you referrals of the companies that can service yor needs.

It seems like an easy answer, but in the end you are paying way more than what was loaned to you. I tried it once when I was in a bind and it just created more problems for me. Not only did I have to pay back what I borrowed, but I had to pay back all of the fees and interest.

well honestly when it say payday loan that is exactly what it is. you have to have a valid checking account and a paycheck coming into that account within 2 weeks. if you are in desperate place for money then this may be your best bet but beware of a few things. first the interest rate is anywhere from 20 to 29% percent and that is regardless of your credit rating. secound, they will draft the payment from your account the date they say they will so if you have a problem with the bank or the money simply is not there, they will not stop the draft. paydayok inc. is probably the best site. they are very nice and customer friendly and have bonuses for referrals. good luck.hope this helps.

We first got into the loan because we needed car repairs and didn’t have enough money then someone told us we could get a payday loan. We went to the payday store and it was so easy just needed to provide a bank statement, pay stub and post dated check for two weeks, my next payday, $575.00 they handed over $500.00 cash. We really thought we would be able to pay it back and that would be that. Then when payday came along $575.00 out of it would be hard as we were already living payday to payday. We went back to the payday store and were told we could just pay the $575.00 cash then re-borrow again that sounded good we just didn’t think of the very high interest rate. So if you borrow every two weeks at $75.00 interest for 26 weeks that equals $1,950.00 in a year. So when we would re-borrow that would not cover all of the bills because we would be short the $150.00 from the interest so we went to the next payday store to cover the monthly bills then we found we needed more money for some other need. Then when we needed to pay off that loan we were short so we had to go to another to cover that loan then another and another before we knew it we were into four paydays per month. Here is the calculation $75.00 x 4 loans =$300.00 per two weeks x 26 weeks per year $7,800.00 x 3 years $23.400.00. Paydays are suppose to be a happy time but when you are into them like we were it is a nightmare and very stressful, robbing Peter to pay Paul, running from one store to another. What was amazing is as I was going from one to another I would see the same people at each store, sad but true.

Fact is, 'on-line' loans are almost 100% scams designed to part desperate insolvent fools from what few pennies they have left .. many just take the 'application' fee and never bother to do anything .. those that are 'legitimate' typically have no money to lend themselves (that's much to risky) = all they do is act as agents for the few "real" loan companies (and take a big fat commission)
If you are intending to lend your own money, I hope you have set aside a few thousand for immediately pursuing defaulters through the Courts (any loan company that fails to vigorously pursue defaulters, soon finds themselves going bust as the word goes out and all their customers default ..)
